Animal Welfare
Animal Welfare in the UK is of massive public concern and interest, invoking strong public feeling across society.
There is a large amount of legislation dealing with the care of animals including The Animal Welfare Act, The Veterinary Surgeons Act, The Transport of Animals Regulations, The Breeding of Dogs Act and The Protection of Wild Mammals Act.
There is also a host of potential offences under the standard criminal legislation such as criminal damage and fraud.
As an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, I am used to providing Clients with advice on animal welfare and how to provide for their animals' needs in a caring, humane and financially affordable manner. Due to this experience, I am able to advise the courts, prosecuting authorities, and defence solicitors as to whether, in veterinary terms, an offence may have been committed and the best way of then conducting an investigation to prove or disprove this hypothesis.
Conducting over 100 case investigations in the last 12 months and producing over 75 reports for the courts, it is my belief that I am extremely experienced at being able to conduct a thorough case investigation using either my own clinical findings or based on the findings of a fellow member of my profession. I am well aware of the differing needs of a standard veterinary consultation and the legal investigation and have access to the resources needed to provide for both.
The practice has access to ammonia measuring equipment, the facilities to conduct in-house post mortems and specialist camera equipment to document important findings. We also have access to a vast array of specialists in other fields so, whether it is spent ammunition recovered from a shot animal, poisoned bait from stomach contents or hair for drug residues that require analysis, we can have that analysis conducted quickly, easily and with the minimum of fuss. What is more we provide a free initial no obligation telephone consultation to discuss your case.
